Costs

Dog Learning Zone is a friendly training centre run by professional Instructors and Behaviour Practitioners who have trained long and hard to gain the necessary qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to help you with your dog. This is reflected in the costs.

We do offer excellent value for money given the investment you have already made in buying your dog, its food, vets' bills, boarding kennel costs during holidays etc.

Joining Fee for Dog Learning Zone
There is a one-off joining fee of £10 to join the centre. This covers all family members and all dogs in the household. Benefits of joining are listed below. Even when your training has finished you can continue to come along to our organised events (see events page).

Group Obedience Lessons
Each small group lesson lasts one hour. This costs £8.50 per lesson and is run on a weekly basis for 10 consecutive weeks.

1-1 Obedience Lessons
1-1 lessons are £22 per session which lasts 45 minutes and usually run fortnightly.

1-2 Obedience Lessons

1-2 lessons are £16 per person which lasts 45 minutes and usually run fortnightly.

Group Agility Lessons

Each small group lesson lasts one hour. This costs £8 per lesson and is run on a weekly basis for 6 consecutive weeks.

1-1 Agility Lessons

1-1 lessons are £20 per session which lasts 45 minutes.

Rally Obedience

Each small group lesson lasts one hour. This costs £8.50 per lesson and is run on a weekly basis for 6 consecutive weeks.

Behaviour Improvement

To reflect the intensity of the work involved, and that extra resources are often needed, the behaviour improvement sessions are £45 for the first session. This includes diagnostic work to identify the root cause of the issues, a report and our recommendations to modify the behaviour.

Subsequent sessions are charged at £45 if two behaviour practitioners are needed (if we have to use a stooge dog for example), or £35 for one behaviour practitioner. Mileage is applied for home visits.

If a prolonged programme is necessary (several months) the sessions will reduce to £40 for two practitioners and £30 for one. We do this so the owner can commit to the programme and we can achieve the desired result.

Reactive Dog Groups

Due to the highly specialised nature of this type of behaviour work two Behaviourists are needed to manage the group. The cost for the course is £160. This includes the four 2 hour workshops and a detailed information/support pack. This equates to £20 per hour. Instalment payments can be arranged if you would like to spread the cost, please ask for details. We do ask for a small deposit on booking to secure your place which is non-refundable if you decide to cancel.

Tellington Touch

The initial Tellington Touch session lasts one and a half to two hours and is charged at £50. This includes handouts detailing the touches applied and a full intervention plan for continuing the work.

Subsequent sessions last one to one and a half hours and are £45 if two behaviour practitioners are needed or £35 for one.

If a prolonged Tellington Touch programme is required (more than six sessions) the cost reduces to £40 for two behaviour practitioners or £30 for one. We do this so the owner can commit to the programme and we can achieve the desired result.
